Corporate and Foundation Support

Investments from corporate and foundation partners play a critical role in sustaining Sheppard Pratt’s status as one of the premier behavioral health facilities in the nation.  Corporations and foundations in the mid-Atlantic area seeking to make an impact on the quality and advancement of behavioral health care regularly partner with Sheppard Pratt to advance its patient care, special education and research missions.  Given the depth and breadth of Sheppard Pratt’s programs, national philanthropic organizations are increasingly taking interest in the institution’s work and the potential of applying its innovative models of care on a national level.

Corporate Giving

Sheppard Pratt’s corporate partners appreciate the significant role the institution plays in the welfare of the community and have provided leadership support for all of its fundraising initiatives, including the Mission 2005: Building for the Future Capital Campaign to support construction of a new hospital facility on the Towson campus.  On an annual basis, corporate sponsors have demonstrated their appreciation for the outstanding services Sheppard Pratt provides specifically to children and adolescents — representing over one-third of patients served — by supporting the Care for Kids Concert.  Proceeds from this annual benefit support the children and adolescents in Sheppard Pratt’s clinical and educational programs.

Foundation Giving

Sheppard Pratt enjoys longstanding relationships with a variety of local and national foundations whose missions align closely with that of its own.  The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, whose name now graces the front entrance of our new hospital facility, has supported a number of the institution’s most significant initiatives, including a new program managed by Sheppard Pratt’s four affiliates to develop customized employment opportunities for individuals facing the dual challenges of mental illness and poverty.
